Announcement of Josef Vavroušek Student Award

Enter your thesis to the competition for Josef Vavroušek Student Award which recognizes outstanding works of a social science or interdisciplinary nature with a social science overlap, following the legacy of Josef Vavroušek as a personality who advocated sustainable development as a harmonious coexistence of man, society and nature with an emphasis on responsibility towards future generations. Application deadline is 24 July 2026.

Who can participate?

• Students and recent graduates of Czech and Slovak universities
• Authors of bachelor's, master's, rigorous, and doctoral theses

The award is awarded for bachelor's, master's, rigorous, and dissertation theses in Czech, Slovak, or English defended in the current or previous academic year.

How to submit a thesis?

• Fill out and sign the application form. Each participant must explicitly state in the application form the connection (continuity) of their thesis to the legacy of Josef Vavroušek.
• Submit the thesis in both printed and electronic form.
• All evaluations and information about the result of the defense must be attached to the thesis.
