Experts from FSV UK and abroad discussed research issues within the BRAINSTORM project

How can we create space for truly focused and stimulating debate on current research issues? The answer was provided by a one-day research retreat held as part of the BRAINSTORM project, which took place with the support of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University and the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism at FSV UK. The event was organized by Hana Moravcová and Markéta Klásková from ICSJ.

The intensive all-day format brought together experts dealing with public institution and public policy communication, strategic and crisis communication, lobbying, participation, and issues of trust. The aim was not only to share experiences and approaches, but also to seek new thematic and methodological intersections and opportunities for cooperation.

"Ideas sorted, plans spun, unique insights shared, and a lot of work on joint research projects ahead of us," is how the organizers summarize the benefits of the meeting.

An important part of the expert discussions was also the active participation of colleagues from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University: Tereza Ježková, Tereza Klabíková Rábová, David Klimeš, Marcela Konrádová, Petra Koudelková, Malvína Krausz Hladká, and Barbora Štěpánová.

We would also like to thank our foreign guests for their participation: Audra Diers-Lawson (Kristiania University of Applied Sciences), Hana Kiková and Edita Štrbová (Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra), Inza Latkovská (University of Latvia), Irina Lock (Friedrich Schiller University Jena) and Ieva Zaumane (Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences).
