Internship project 10: Case study: The representation of migrant identity and migration in Netflix TV series “Zero.”

Internship 10 is a case study focused on the representation of migrant identity and migration in Italian Netflix TV series “Zero”.  TV series follow the lives of young people, second-generation immigrants, who are not considered citizens even when born in Italy, speak the language and share the cultural references. Immigration has been one of the major European political and cultural issue; the research question is how European cultural spaces are evolving and how it is affected by the platformization (streaming services like Netflix). It is a part of a larger research project, which aims to analyze the role of media platforms in shaping a European identity and to understand the critical aspects of the contemporary media landscape.
