European Journalism Observatory

European Journalism Observatory

European Journalism Observatory (EJO) is a network of 14 non-profit research organizations from 11 countries that mediates the results of media research to the public and seeks to contribute to enhancing the quality of journalism and a deeper understanding of media outcomes.

Goals

The main objective of the EJO is to reduce the gap between communications research and the media and the outside world. Students of the doctoral study ICSJ also participate in the content.

The EJO was established in 2004 as a nonprofit center for research based at the Università della Svizzera italiana. We've since developed into a network of several partners, among them the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, Erich Brost Insitute of TU Dortmund, the University of Wroclaw and the Turiba Business School in Latvia. Our principle supporters are the Fondazione per il Corriere del Ticino, Lugano, the Bosch Foundation and the Stiftung Pressehaus NRZ, Essen.
