New PhD graduate at ICSJ: Markéta Kaclová examined how artificial intelligence is transforming the public relations profession in Central and Eastern Europe.
On Monday, June 29, doctoral candidate Markéta Kaclová successfully defended her dissertation titled Digital Transformation and the Professionalisation of Public Relations in Central and Eastern Europe. She thus became another graduate of the PhD programme at ICSJ. -
Filip Láb Award established at ICSJ: Both this year’s graduates and current students are eligible to apply
The Filip Láb Award have been established at ICSJ to support students and recent graduates working on issues related to human rights and equal opportunities. The award builds on the legacy of Associate Professor Filip Láb and will provide financial support for both the best theses and student projects. -

New 4EU+ grant calls announced
The 4EU+ Alliance is launching two calls for grant applications: SEED4EU+ to support joint research projects and 4EU+ Visiting Professorships for short-term academic stays. The application deadline is 13 October 2026. An online information session will take place on 30 June 2026. -

Imperfect Women, a Problem and a Threat: New Study Examines How Central European Media Talk About Transgender Sportswomen
Kateřina Turková, Alice Němcová Tejkalová, Anna Hrbáčková, and Veronika Macková from the ICSJ analyze in a new study how Central European sports media portrayed transgender sportswomen in 2023. The research shows that the media predominantly framed them as a problem—either as a spectacle attracting public attention or as a threat to women’s sport and women more generally.
