The Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism is now on the social network Bluesky! Following the gradual transition of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University from platform X (formerly Twitter) to Bluesky, we’ve decided to join this new communication platform as well. -
Two FSV UK students received prestigious awards from the Rector of Charles University
Interesting scientific topics, excellent study or sporting results, as well as community activities and helping others, were all recognised by the Rector of Charles University Milena Králíčková, who presented prestigious awards to students from Charles University for their extraordinary activities. On March 31, 2025, students of Charles University received the awards from the Rector Professor and other members of the CU management in the Karolinum Patriotic Hall. -
A New PhD Graduate at ICSJ: Matěj Skalický Defends His Dissertation on News Podcasts
The Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism at the FSV UK has a new doctoral graduate. On Monday, March 31, 2025, Matěj Skalický successfully defended his dissertation in the Media and Communication Studies program. His research focused on the phenomenon of radio remediation in the Czech media landscape, with a particular emphasis on the development of news podcasts and their audience. -

Are Europe and the US still allies? Marek Vranka from ICSJ takes part in a study exploring NATO's credibility in the eyes of the public
Researcher Marek Vranka from ICSJ FSV UK is contributing to the MICROCODE project led by Michal Smetana (IMS FSV UK), which is supported by the prestigious ERC Starting Grant. This five-year project investigates how the perceived credibility of collective defense commitments in military alliances such as NATO is formed and changes over time.

Student Association
The association Students of ICSJ was founded in 2015 to associate students of all departments at the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism. We advocate quality teaching, a more diverse community life, and supports student projects and cooperation with related institutions.
