Call for Aspiring Journalists: Get a Scholarship and Fight Disinformation

Are you an aspiring journalist looking to combat disinformation? Join this prestigious program that will not only broaden your horizons but also provide you with a scholarship and the opportunity to work on an international level.

Who Can Apply?

We are looking for aspiring journalists (aged 18-30) and journalism students who are interested in combating misinformation with a focus on minority cultures, EU identity, urban culture and housing, environment, health and well-being in a transnational context. A very good knowledge of English is mandatory as the working language of the programme is English.

We are looking for journalists aged 18–30 who have at least two years of experience in disinformation-related topics or are actively engaged in this field. This opportunity is also open to journalism students with an interest in combating disinformation, minority cultures, EU identity, urban culture and housing, the environment, health and well-being in a transnational context.

A very good knowledge of English is required, as it is the working language of the program.

What Do Participants Gain?

Selected participants will receive a €1,900 scholarship covering travel expenses, accommodation, and research during a stay in Slovakia or Portugal.

About the CLAD Project

This program is part of CLAD – Citizens and Libraries against Disinformation, a project aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of disinformation and providing citizens with tools to identify and combat it. Libraries and community centers play a key role as hubs for education and social engagement. The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by a network of libraries and cultural centers in Slovakia and Portugal under the leadership of Goethe-Institut Portugal and Goethe-Institut Slovakia.
