  • ICSJ launches ERC-funded research into children’s experiences of information text

    Since this September, Anežka Kuzmičová, Markéta Supa and colleagues are conducting research at ICSJ investigating how children experience information texts such as encyclopaedias and how they enjoy this type of literature. The project was awarded a prestigious ERC grant worth €1.5 million, making her the first recipient of this grant in the social sciences and humanities at the CU.

    We have prepared for you a summary of September operations at the faculty. The operation of the Hollar building remains limited due to its renovation and modernization. The office hours of the International Office for degree and exchange students are adjusted.

  • EUMEPLAT Project Output: Special Issue of the Central European Journal of Communication

    The team from the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism (ICSJ) has prepared a special issue of the Central European Journal of Communication focused on the future of platforms and their social construction.

  • Media and Democracy Seminar

    Our external SAB members of the English PhD program are visiting us in Prague on September 12, 2024. For that occasion, the seminar on Media and Democracy will be organized for all interested PhD students. The events are open to up to 25 participants, so be sure to RSVP.
  • Call for Abstracts for ReMeD Conference

    In February 2025, the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University will host a conference titled "Regulation and Accountability in a Hybrid Media System: Content Creators, Algorithmic Plurality, and Online Platforms." The call for abstracts is now open for individual papers and panel proposals.
