Call for Papers: 2nd International Children & Youth Perspectives Conference: What Persists?
We are excited to announce the 2nd International Children & Youth Perspectives Conference: What Persists?, taking place 18–19 September 2025 at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. Keynote speakers will be Dr. Macarena García-González from Pompeu Fabra University, Prof. John Potter from University College London and Prof. Sarah McGeown from University of Edinburgh. ICSJ won ten seats in the elections to the AS FSV UK, two to the AS UK
In the elections to the Academic Senate of FSV UK ICSJ won 10 seats. We thus gained the maximum possible representation in the AS of FSV UK. Congratulations to all elected representatives of our institute and thank you to the voters for a turnout of 41.55%! -
ICSJ students won an award for their open letter to Czech newsrooms, which started an important media debate
Students of the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism (ICSJ) of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University have been awarded the Prize of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports for an extraordinary act of students demonstrating civic bravery, responsibility or dedication. Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Mikuláš Bek presented the award to student representative Miroslava Sloupová on 19 November 2024 at the Liechtenstein Palace in Prague. The entire group was also represented at the event by Michaela Šedinová and Tomáš Zemánek. -
Who from ICSJ is running for the Academic Senate of FSV UK and UK?
Two elections will take place in the period from 26 to 28 November 2024. Elections for the Academic Senate of the FSV UK for the term 2025-2027 and elections for the Academic Senate of the CU for the term 2025-2028. Both elections will be held electronically. Read more in the article. -
Laura Snapes at ICSJ: Cultural journalism has its irreplaceable place

Call for applications for the POINT programme is open
For the autumn 2024 round of the POINT program, applications for support can be submitted from November 1, 2024, 6 A.M. to November 30, 2024, 4 P.M. After the deadline the applications will not be accepted. In the autumn call it is possible to apply for financial support for activities which will take place throughout the following calendar year.

The association Students of ICSJ was founded in 2015 to associate students of all departments at the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism. We advocate quality teaching, a more diverse community life, and supports student projects and cooperation with related institutions.
