Jaroslav Švelch's book Player vs. Monster will be available in other languages
The book Player vs. Monster: The Making and Breaking of Video Game Monstrosity by Jaroslav Švelch from the Department of Media Studies will be translated into Italian, traditional Chinese for Taiwanese readers and simplified Chinese alphabet for mainland China. So far it has been published in English, Czech and Spanish. In total, it will be available in six languages. -
The Hollar café is open again
Café on Hollar is open again! It is currently operating on a trial basis, with opening hours from Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm and on Fridays from 9 am to 4 pm. -

Carlo Berti will be a guest lecturer of the course Teoretické koncepty ke studiu žurnalistiky II. The lecture will take place on 29 April, from 9.30 to 10.50 a.m. in room 215. -

The Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism is now on the social network Bluesky! Following the gradual transition of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University from platform X (formerly Twitter) to Bluesky, we’ve decided to join this new communication platform as well. -
Two FSV UK students received prestigious awards from the Rector of Charles University
Interesting scientific topics, excellent study or sporting results, as well as community activities and helping others, were all recognised by the Rector of Charles University Milena Králíčková, who presented prestigious awards to students from Charles University for their extraordinary activities. On March 31, 2025, students of Charles University received the awards from the Rector Professor and other members of the CU management in the Karolinum Patriotic Hall.
