Are you interested in Big Tech, digital marketing, and surveillance capitalism? A new master's course will reveal more!
The Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism is launching a new course, The Digital Ecosystem: Big Tech, Privacy, and Marketing (JKM539), focusing on the digital ecosystem, its functioning, and its impact on digital marketing, data, and digital market regulation. Taught by Dr. Hana Moravcová and Mgr. Markéta Klásková, this course will provide students with an in-depth insight into online tracking, targeted advertising, the economy of Big Tech companies, and legislative measures shaping the digital environment. The course is taught in English, but students from Czech programs are also welcome. -

Call for Papers: 2nd International Children & Youth Perspectives Conference: What Persists?
We are excited to announce the 2nd International Children & Youth Perspectives Conference: What Persists?, taking place 18–19 September 2025 at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. Keynote speakers will be Dr. Macarena García-González from Pompeu Fabra University, Prof. John Potter from University College London and Prof. Sarah McGeown from University of Edinburgh. Public trust in scientists. The study, co-authored by ICSJ FSV UK researchers, was published in the prestigious journal Nature Human Behaviour
Researchers Tereza Klabíková Rábová and Karolína Pštross from the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, participated in an international study published in Nature Human Behaviour, a journal belonging to the prestigious Nature family of scientific publications. -

The association Students of ICSJ was founded in 2015 to associate students of all departments at the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism. We advocate quality teaching, a more diverse community life, and supports student projects and cooperation with related institutions.
