  • ICSJ has a new ombudsperson

    The results of the elections of student ombudspeople for the period 2026/2027 are now known. The elections took place on 3 and 4 March 2026 at the Institute of Economic Studies, the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism and the Institute of Sociological Studies. At the Institute of International Studies and the Institute of Political Studies, a single candidate was automatically elected.
  • AGON movie essay is now available online

    The movie essay AGON: Constructions of Democracy is now available in the journal Tecmerin: Journal of Audiovisual Essays. The essay was created by Nico Carpentier and Ali Minanto from ICSJ in collaboration with Jhon Sany Purwanto as one of the main outputs of the research project MeDeMAP.
  • A new photography exhibition can be seen at Hollar

    The corridors of Hollar have been filled with a new photography exhibition presenting the work of ICSJ students from both Czech and English photography courses in the 2024/2025 academic year. The exhibited photographs were created under the supervision of Sandra Lábová, František Géla, and Robert Silverio.
  • Science in the service of democracy. New international study maps the role of chief science advisors to governments

    How can governments make better use of scientific knowledge in their decision-making? A new international study confirms that it is not enough to have data available – the key is to be able to translate it into understandable, credible, and politically relevant recommendations. The study, published in the journal Science and Public Policy, was co-authored by Karolína Pštross.
  • New book from ICSJ analyzes threats, disinformation, and regulation of the digital space in Europe

    Researchers Kateřina Turková and Veronika Macková from the ICSJ FSV UK have published a new book entitled Threats, Disinformation, and Regulations in the European Digital Environment, which offers an interdisciplinary perspective on the development of digital regulation and the current challenges associated with the spread of disinformation in Europe.
  • Experts from FSV UK and abroad discussed research issues within the BRAINSTORM project

    As part of the BRAINSTORM project, a one-day research camp was held to facilitate in-depth professional discussion on current research topics. The event was organized by Hana Moravcová and Markéta Klásková from ICSJ with the support of FSV UK and ICSJ.
