Metascience at FSV UK: Workshops with world experts Gilad Feldman and František Bartoš
On Tuesday, 29 September, two workshops focused on metascience and open science practices will take place at FSV UK (Voršilská 1, room 508). Starting at 9:30, Gilad Feldman (University of Innsbruck) will demonstrate how AI tools and automation can be used to check and improve scientific research. Starting at 13:30, František Bartoš (University of Amsterdam) will lead a practical workshop on publication bias adjusted meta-analysis in JASP. -

The prestigious publisher Routledge has published a new scholarly monograph by Jan Švelch from the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, titled Behind the Scenes of the Video Game Industry: Storytelling, Power Dynamics, and Myth. The book focuses on stories about how video games are made and examines how the video game industry presents its operations, working practices, and the people involved in game development to both the public and the academic community. -
Denisa Hejlová is the curator of a new exhibition of Japanese kimonos
The exhibition “Kimonos from Kyoto: A Vanishing Beauty,” organized by Denisa Hejlová from ICSJ, showcases a private collection of traditional Japanese garments. Visitors can view the exhibition from September 1 through October 30 at the Japanese Information and Cultural Center in Prague. -

The Communicating Narratives, Imaginaries and Epistemes of Hope conference has announced its programme. The event, which will take place at the Hollar Building on 7 September 2026 from 9:00 to 17:30, will focus on the constructive force of hope and on how visions, discourses and practices of hope associated with democracy, peace and justice are expressed in media and communication. -
